Awareness of the impact of music in society and its ability to elevate and inspire the human spirit has inhabited the hearts of musicians past and present. Franz Liszt's philosophy has been embraced by the American Liszt Society and is reflected in the Baltimore Washington Chapter biennial festival and piano competition. The Chapter’s mission is to encourage the next generation of performing artists by providing a forum for presentations and music making. The event has lured promising young musicians, artists, presenters, and contestants from around the world.
