Mission Statement
Awareness of the impact of music in society and its ability to elevate and inspire the human spirit has inhabited the hearts of musicians past and present. Franz Liszt’s philosophy has been embraced by the American Liszt Society and is reflected in the Baltimore Washington Chapter bi-annual festival and piano competition. The Chapter’s mission is to encourage the next generation of performing artists by providing a forum for presentations and music making. The event has lured promising young musicians, artists, presenters, and contestants from around the world.
Festival participants experience friendliness and a collegial atmosphere engendered by a spirit of goodwill among musicians and the community. The Baltimore Washington Chapter of the ALS looks forward to welcoming you at the 2011 Festival and Competition at College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
